The panels are painted by a local artist. She paints the panels by hand and spends a great deal of time on the details in each painting. Each panel requires a good bit of time to paint but adds a great deal to the finished product. The panels are always protected with a finishing protective spray. Upon completion, the artist gives the painted panel to the basket maker and she dyes the reed to match the painting and creates the basket that will fit the painting. Both the artist and the basket maker are retired teachers and friends so the finished product is a great example of team work.
